This 3 bedroom, two storey inner city house has replaced a weatherboard cottage in which the owner grew up. Typical of many small inner city sites, the land size and orientation were significant factors in the design of the building. The client also had a very pragmatic brief which included maintenance and simplicity of use as important considerations. Likewise, this had an influence on the design of the building. The resulting building has a high level of functionality while harmoniously providing an appealing level of design detail.
